Bethany Barber is an international performing artist with a thirst for broadening her horizons. She was born and raised in America, but lives in Cologne, Germany. She trained classically, earning her doctorate in vocal performance with Sylvia McNair at the prestigious Indiana University Jacobs School of Music as an opera singer, but spends most of her time singing everything from musicals to jazz, Mozart to Madonna, and everything in between. Some of her favorite roles and gigs have included the Witch in Sondheim's Into the Woods, The Queen of the Night in Mozart's The Magic Flute, Queen Gertrude in Shakespeare's Hamlet, Cher in a Cher tribute band, singing and dancing in variety shows on cruise ships and all over Germany, and crooning jazz standards late into the night. She never did find her “niche” like they told her to in the conservatory, but instead discovered that her true passion lies in exploring the riches of as many different performing styles as possible and appreciating the unique artistry in each of them.

Bethany Barber ist eine internationale darstellende Künstlerin, die immer ihren Horizont erweitern ersehnt. Sie ist gebürtige US-Amerikanerin, die es vor einigen Jahren aber nach Köln verschlagen hat. Obwohl sie in klassischem Gesang bei Sylvia McNair an der Opernschule der Indiana University Jacobs School of Music promovierte, singt sie jetzt querbeet - von Musical bis Jazz, Mozart bis Madonna und alles dazwischen. Einige ihrer liebsten Auftritte im darstellenden Bereich sind unter anderem in Shakespeares “Hamlet” als Queen Gertrude oder als Königin der Nacht in Mozarts „Die Zauberflöte“ genauso mit wie als Cher in einen Cher Tribute Show und als Hexe in “Into the Woods." Sie hat ihre “Nische” nie - wie vom Konservatorium erwartet - gefunden sondern erkannte viel eher, dass ihre wahre Leidenschaft in der Enthüllung des Reichtums von verschiedensten Darstellungsarten und dem Wertschätzen der jeweiligen Ästhetik liegt.
