English Theatre Düsseldorf is currently casting for their upcoming winter production of LUNGS by Duncan Macmillan, to be directed by Lily McLeish and to be performed in Düsseldorf in January 2026.
The world is getting hotter, there’s unrest overseas—the seas themselves aren’t very calm—and one couple is thinking about having a child. LUNGS is a smart and funny drama that follows a couple through the surprising lifecycle of their relationship, as they grapple with questions of family and change, hope, betrayal, happenstance, and the terrible pain that you can only cause the people you love.
We are casting for the following role:
M: Male, British, 30-40s - No specific character description provided. Actor should be a native speaker of the English language.
Rehearsals: 3-4 weeks in total in December and January, 4-5 days a week (exact days and times to be planned to suit both the company and the chosen actor) at both a rehearsal space in Düsseldorf and online.
Performances: max. 10 performances in total, from middle to end of January 2026
Artist fee: 2000€ Flat fee
Extra information: No accommodation or travel expenses can be provided, therefore if the actor is not local to Düsseldorf/surrounding area, this factor should be taken into consideration when applying.
