He doesn´t know a thing about art. But being a former bouncer, Dave gets hired to guard a controversial piece of art. “Jesus on the Cross” is ten feet high by six feet wide and was created in a, well, let’s say, different sort of way... There are people out there who won´t like it, and there are many ways of looking at it. While Dave develops his own relation to art and this particular piece, he begins defending it against his wife, the media and a whole bunch of religious fanatics. Then the shit hits the fan. In the end, his troubles come from an unexpected side...

Rehearsals will be short and intense, so the text MUST be learnt in preparation for the first day. Rehearsals will run from 21st March - 1st April (day of premiere), in Düsseldorf and because the schedule is so tight the actor must be available for all 10 days.

The actor MUST be based in or around Düsseldorf OR have a place to reside local to Düsseldorf for the duration of the rehearsals and perfomance dates.

This is a British play so an accent from anywhere in the United Kingdom is NECESSARY.

Performances will be 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 15th, 16th, 17th & 18th April AND a one-off additional performance on 20th June for a City event, with all performances to be held at Theatermuseum, Düsseldorf.

This will be a profit-share project - All profit made from ticket sales for the 8 performances in April will be split between the cast and creatives. The additional June performance will be a paid performance with a flat fee (tbc)

This is a fantastic showcasing opportunity for any strong male actor looking for a new challenge.
