THE BRAINS OF THE BUSINESS
Ilya and Rosie have been running the company officially as a business since January 2018. Not only do they manage the company but they direct, produce and market their business. Good team all-rounders with a passion for acting and theatre.
Born and bred in Kent, ENGLAND, Rosie went on to train as an actor at the Arts University College, Bournemouth. Since graduating in 2010, Rosie has worked predominantly in Theatre, touring in Germany, Austria and the UK with Theatre Companies such as White Horse Theatre, Selladoor Theatre Company and Vienna’s English Theatre. This is where Rosie discovered a love for performing English Theatre to non-native Audiences, and gave her the idea to set up her very own English Speaking Theatre Company „English Theatre Düsseldorf“. Rosie not only works in Theatre but also in Voiceover.
Ilya from Chicago, USA, is an actress, musical theatre soloist, director, choreographer and drama teacher. She was a scholarship student at Robert Joffrey’s American Ballet Center in NYC, and the Ellis-DuBoulay school of Ballet in Chicago. She also studied Theater at the University of Utah, the University of North Carolina and Circle in the Square in NYC. Ms. Parenteau’s credits span from Shakespeare plays to musicals; "A Midsummer Night’s Dream" with PlayMaker’s Repertory Co., "Footloose" with Paramount Pictures, Demeter in "Cats" with the Really Useful Co., Zürich, CH, the Chicago Opera Theater, the Muny Opera Theater…

SOPHIE LUKER - THEATER PEDAGOGUE
Originally from London, England, Sophie is an Actress and teacher of Theatre/Dance and English. She studied Drama, Theatre & Performance Studies at Roehampton University, England. Sophie worked in London for several years in Theatre, Films and radio plays before having the pleasure to travel and teach Theatre abroad in America, Australia, Middle East, Singapore and now Germany.
Sophie is currently teaching Theatre at the International School of Neuss (ISR) and in several Kindergartens and Language schools throughout Dusseldorf.
ROMEO BRYANT - THEATER PEDAGOGUE
Romeo started out as an actor in New York City, working with the Negro Ensemble Company and as consultant with the Dance Theatre of Harlem. His major theatre studies were at Teachers College at Columbia University, New York City. Romeo was at the International School of Duesseldorf for over 26 years, where he was head of the theatre department. he has also been a drama consultant at the International School on the Rhine in Neuss. Romeo was associated with the International Schools Theatre Association, (ISTA) for over 28 years whereby he attended over 40 international drama festivals/events as teacher chaperone, festival host and operations manager.
Romeo loves writing plays for children and hopes to someday have his own bilingual theatre group.
ELLIE NIAS - THEATER/DANCE PEDAGOGUE
Ellie has just recently moved to Germany from England, she studied Physical theatre in London and is an actress, dancer and loves to write her own music. In her time in London she created many plays with small theatre companies through devising and playing with music and movement. She has a love for ballet, finishing all her grades before moving to London for university. Ellie taught dance classes when she was training herself, to younger classes. After she graduated Ellie got a job in South Korea teaching dance and drama in an international boarding school for last year. In addition to teaching regular GCSE classes in South Korea she also choreographed the dances to ‘Zoro the musical’ a show the school put on incorporating over 50 students. After her oversea adventures Ellie worked for a company taking drama workshops for adults with learning disabilities in England. Ellie has just finished filming a short film based in London in which she was a dancer. Ellie has a true love for creating art and performing and will share this passion and experience with the children and team here at the English Theatre Dusseldorf!
Erika was raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in History at Georgia State University before moving to Minneapolis to begin her career as a performing arts administrator. She was fortunate enough to work at the Guthrie Theater for four and a half years as a Season Ticket Specialist, Tour Guide and Subscription Marketing Coordinator. In addition to her work at the Guthrie, she co-produced and co-directed a play for the 2017 Minnesota Fringe Festival, and managed the box office at the Minnesota Jewish Theatre Company. She made the big move to Germany in 2018 to undertake a new career in travel marketing. She is thrilled to be on board as a volunteer marketer for the English Theatre Duesseldorf!
